The adoption process, step by step
Adoption is a journey, not a single moment. Here is the path from your very first question to welcoming a child home, and the support that continues long after.
Each stage is designed to be clear and reassuring. We explain what is happening, what is needed from you, and what comes next, every step of the way.
This process reflects the Ghana Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection. The exact steps differ slightly for in-country and inter-country adoption. See In-Country Adoption and Inter-Country Adoption for the official procedure and requirements.
