Applied research
We study what puts Ghanaian families under strain and what helps, through needs assessments and formative research, so our work responds to real problems rather than assumptions.
We are not only a service provider. We design and deliver interventions, study what works, and use the evidence to strengthen our programmes and inform practice across Ghana.
We also design and deliver interventions that strengthen families, protect vulnerable children and keep children within their own homes and communities wherever it is safe to do so.
That work is grounded in research. We study what puts Ghanaian families under strain, test what helps, and use what we learn to shape our own programmes and to inform policy and practice more widely. This research and partnerships work is led by our Head of Research, Programmes and Partnerships, and it sits alongside our welfare programmes and our adoption service as a core part of what we do.
We study what puts Ghanaian families under strain and what helps, through needs assessments and formative research, so our work responds to real problems rather than assumptions.
We measure whether our programmes and those of our partners are actually working, using implementation research and evaluation, so effort and funding go where they make a difference.
We work with donors, foundations, research institutions and government agencies to fund and deliver interventions, bringing the research design, evaluation and reporting discipline that funded work requires.
We share what we learn with government, practitioners and funders, using the evidence to shape our own programmes and to inform child and family welfare policy and practice more widely.
If you are a donor, foundation, research institution or government agency looking to fund or collaborate on child and family welfare work in Ghana, we would love to talk.
Your support funds the programmes, research and partnerships that keep more children growing up in loving families across Ghana.
